Snap-8 10mg
Acetyl octapeptide-3, an SNAP-25 N-terminal mimic studied in SNARE-complex and neurotransmitter-release models.
Snap-8 is the INCI-named acetyl octapeptide-3, an N-acetylated, C-amidated octapeptide with the sequence Ac-Glu-Glu-Met-Gln-Arg-Arg-Ala-Asp-NH2 (CAS 868844-74-0, formula C41H70N16O16S, molecular weight approximately 1075.2 Da). It mimics the N-terminal region of SNAP-25 and is an elongated analog of the hexapeptide acetyl hexapeptide-3 (Argireline).
SNAP-25 is one of the three SNARE proteins, together with syntaxin and VAMP/synaptobrevin, whose assembly into a complex drives vesicle fusion and neurotransmitter release. Peptides that imitate the SNAP-25 N-terminus are studied in cell-based and biochemical models as competitors of SNARE-complex formation and as tools for studying regulated exocytosis. Snap-8 is used in cosmetic-science research as a longer comparator for its shorter parent peptide.
Each vial contains 10 mg of lyophilized peptide. A third-party certificate for this product is coming soon. Supplied for in-vitro research use only.
Research areas: SNARE complex assembly, SNAP-25 N-terminal mimetics, Regulated exocytosis models, Cosmetic peptide science.
